The man cleaned up in recent years, grew one hell of a MAN-STACHE, and released an awesome album in 2008, Dig Lazarus Dig . For 14 years Cave has provided us with volumes of intensely ominous art rock with Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds, but were you aware of his auxiliary artistic outlet, GrinderMan?
The Nick Cave fronted blues punk foursome let loose an album in 2007 . Cave’s voice has a more harsh-brooding tone then in some of his more recent work with The Bad Seeds, but manages to keep it’s Dr. Frank-N-furter like operatic charm. Sparse bass and heavy guitar make Grinderman the perfect soundtrack for kitten punching.
